PHYSIOLOGICAL RESPONSE OF SOME WHEAT CULTIVARS TO THERMAL STRESS

چکیده

Plants are exposed during their development to the influence of various stressful factors, both abiotic and biotic in natural conditions habitation. Thermal stress is likely most important factor that adversely affects plant growth development. Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) one economically crops worldwide. In this study, three Latvian winter wheat cultivars ´Creator´, ´Galerist´, ´Skagen´ were used as a research model subjected short-term high temperature (42°C, 1 h) analyzed for following parameters (maximum length root, first leaf coleoptile well seedlings weight). general, caused an insignificant reduction almost all criteria like growth, weight, maximal root ´Galerist´ at 6th day Furthermore, characteristics stimulated by cultivar ´Creator´. A slowing processes under thermal revealed varietal specificity on impact stressor morphological structure cereal, which makes it possible diagnose tolerance cultivars.

Response of some vegetative and physiological traits of Iranian and foreign grape cultivars to drought stress

Drought stress, as the most important environmental stress, severely disrupts plant growth and limits production and yield more than any other environmental factor. Investigation of the role of drought stress conditions on plant morphological, physiological and photosynthesis characteristics may provide a tool to understand the basic drought resistance. To investigate the drought tolerance of I...

Evaluation of Wheat Cultivars under Salinity Stress Based on Some Agronomic and Physiological Traits

Fifteen Iranian wheat cultivars (Triticum aestivum L.) were compared for salt (NaCl & Na2SO4 in 1:1 ratio) tolerance using three treatments: 1.26 (control), 6.8 and 13.8 dSm in a green house. During vegetable growth, shoot Na, K, K: Na ratio and agronomic traits such as 1000-grain weight, grain yield, biological yield, number of tillers, number of fertile tillers, spike length, salinity suscept...

evaluation of some of biochemical and physiological traits in wheat cultivars in response to salinity stress at seedling stage

in order to evaluate the physiological and biochemical traits in response to salinity, six varieties of wheat were cultivated in a split plot based on randomized complete block design in the growth chamber in the department of agronomy, faculty of agriculture, university of maragheh. seedlings of wheat cultivars, in three to four leaves stage were treated with 200 mm nacl for 14 days. after the...

Chemical Composition, Yield and Yield Components of Two Wheat Cultivars in Response to Salt Stress

Abstract In most southern provinces of Iran, soil salinity is a growing problem, particularly in irrigated agricultural areas, and has been found to reduce wheat yield, dramatically. To investigate the effect of sodium chloride on two wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars, four levels of salinity: 0, 4, 8 and 12 dS/m, were employed as a factorial experiment arranged in a randomized complet...

THE RESPONSE OF FOLIAR PROTEINS IN TWO WHEAT (TRITICUM AESTIVUM) CULTIVARS TO SALT STRESS

Effect of various NaCl treatments (0, 50, 100, 200, and 300 mM) at different growth and development stages (tillering, boot swellen, flowering and anthesis) in two wheat cultivars (Ghods: salt – sensitive, Boolani: salt – resistant) on SDS-PAGE electrophoretic pattern of leaf proteins was studied under greenhouse conditions. Generally, in response to salinity treatments, the decrease in protein...
